The collection contains a pair of page length autograph quotations from "The easiest way" and "Third act signed in full." In a letter to Augustus Thomas Walter agrees to meet for lunch, and wishes "to discuss with you a prospective organization of American dramatists that I have in view [which] would be of practical benefit in stamping out ... abuses that playwrights tolerate." He also comments briefly on Thomas's support of William Jennings Bryan in the presidential election.
